leaky facuet Don't ignore that drip!

It may be easy to ignore, but a leaky faucet is something you shouldn’t ignore. It can waste over 30 gallons of water over the course of a year and ignoring this will cause your monthly water bills to skyrocket! It can also easily result in mold developing around the faucets and inside your home.  Lastly, it is always an indication of an underlying problem.  If left alone for too long, the entire plumbing system could become compromised, leading to worse water damage and more costly repairs down the line.

So, when a leak is discovered please follow these following tips:

1. Shut Off the Water Valves - these are found underneath the sink

2. Call your Plumber  - they will identify the leak, repair or replace leaking lines or fittings.

3. Contact your insurance carrier - Know what your insurance policy says before talking to your agent. It is important to read your policy to make sure your loss is covered. Sometimes, the repair may not be covered, but the water from the leak resulting in additional damage may be.

4. Contact SERVPRO of Geauga County - Water damage is risky to leave unattended. Hidden water can cause damage to wood, cabinets, flooring, and even the ceiling below as well as cause mold in your home.
